Dear Alan, The biggest reason why I love you so much is because you were a late bloomer just like I am. My whole life I’ve always been the one to experience things last. For the longest time I would often think “what makes me so different?” And I’ve lived with this insecurity for a while. Until I watched your films and finally wanted to learn more about you and having learned that you were a late bloomer inspired me so much because after seeing your work I never once thought “he’s too old to do this.” I’ve always admired your work and you gave me great comfort knowing you don’t have to be a certain age to achieve and experience the things you find the most passion for. You’re so special to me and I will always hold a special place in my heart. Which is crazy because you had no idea that I exist. Thank you Alan for being my sanctuary. I love you and miss you dearly.
