Mr. Alan Rickman, On this day, thanks to a devoted community close to your memory, I can put a few words to my feelings and gratitude for you. I know how much writing did you good, finding peace and liberation in writing down your thoughts in your diaries. Wherever your soul may be in the universe, I hope my words find refuge with you. As a child, I saw your appearances in films like Robin Hood and Love Actually, but I wasn't really interested in your career—a personal regret. But life has never been kind to me. Growing up, constantly facing life's ups and downs, I quickly found myself lost in the vast world of adulthood. In 2020, I lost my grandmother, and everything fell apart; my life slipped through my fingers, and I felt betrayed by the universe. Despite everything, I tried to hold on. In 2023, I lost my job. A few weeks later, still unemployed, I received a diagnosis: burnout, at 20 years old. I couldn't believe it. I was advised to take my time, look for something, a fixed point of focus to try and get back on my feet. It was autumn, Harry Potter season on TV, and I decided to watch it for the first time in my life. I fell under Severus's spell; he was like me, I saw myself in him. I became increasingly attached to this character, betrayed by life too, and decided to learn more about the actor who portrayed this character, now so dear to my heart—you, Mr. Rickman. And there it was, I had finally found my anchor, the lifeline that pulled me out of the exhausting storm of my life and my mind. The more I focused on you, the more my self-confidence grew. I found work again, I grew mentally, and I opened myself up to the world. I try, I fail sometimes, but I get back up and try again. Thanks to you, sir. It's September 2026, and it's been almost three years since you unknowingly accompanied me through my days. Since you saved me a little more each day. Thank you for your remarkable journey, despite its ups and downs. Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for your bravery, your gentlemanly nature, your unwavering commitment to yourself and your British roots. Thank you for the beautiful legacy you left us; know that every film is savored and appreciated, with a thought for you. Thank you for everything and more. Hoping that since 2016, your soul has finally found the rest and peace you deserve. May the universe watch over your loved ones, family, and friends. A heartfelt thought for you, Mr. Alan Rickman. A French fan who, thanks to you, has managed to piece together some fragments of her life while continuing to work on it.
