Dear Alan, The first time I watched one of your films, I was 10. Your role was Severus Snape, and your portrayal of him really inspired me and forged both my love for the character, and for you. As I grew older, I became more invested with your works and I soon began to watch more of your films.. one of my favourite portrayals of yours most notably being The Sheriff of Nottingham. Soon after that, I discovered my love for acting and theatre, something that I never would have dreamed of beforehand. You are such a big inspiration to me. Through rough times, your works have always been a source of comfort and safety for me, a light in the darkest of days. I love how you would potray your characters, putting so much depth and thought into the reactions they would elicit out of viewers. I love how passionate you were about your work, and how caring and paitent you were with people. I love how you wouldn't cop bullshit or disrespect, and I love how you seemed to find a light in everyone. You have helped me understand my worth as a person, and you've most certainly raised my standards in partners, especially after I was treated so horribly by one. If I could thank you for one thing, it would be how your work and values have allowed me to gain more self respect, and not let people treat me like garbage. I wish I had the privilege of meeting you, and I wish I could tell you how much you've helped me in all aspects of my life. I hope you knew how loved and valued you were by millions across the world, and I hope you knew how much you helped people. You will hold a special place in my heart, Always.
